Aircraft Design

Co-Founder and CTO of drone delivery startup that delivers medicine to rural areas. Fully in-house design, build, operation of custom VTOL flying wing aircraft with ranges up to 100km. Drones have been deployed in some of the most challenging conditions from the Arctic Circle to remote jungles and warzones.

Aerospace R&D

Designed, developed and tested multiple patents pending technologies for the aerospace industry. Patent applications relate to a metal 3D printing process, a microfluidic hydraulic actuator design, and structural member design.

Aerodynamics Research

Led anechoic wind tunnel testing focused on redesigning structural components on aircraft landing gear to reduce aerodynamic noise. Project was done as part of a join industry collaboration.

Hardware & Software Development

Full stack Hardware/Software Development such as Hospital IoT Devices done in 3 weeks. Physical design in CAD. CAM/CNC Manufacturing. Custom electronics/firmware/software for IoT device. Back end database to store data from devices over cellular or network. Front end cloud portal for users to access analytics.

Robotics Competitions

Designed robots to compete in games such as frisbee and basketball. Winner of the FRIST Robotics World Championships – world's largest robotics competition. Wrote a design guidebook used by many teams endorsed by SolidWorks and referenced in NASA’s Educational Robotics Handbook.

Engineering Education

TA for first year engineering design courses. Technical advisor for a 4th year capstone course focused on making wearable tech. Helped run a light fabrication maker space. Supervised several 4th year capstone projects for mechanical and electrical engineering.

Media and Film

Started small media company with friends to make videos for clients. Projects include product demos, event recaps, and corporate videos. Also made YouTube videos for fun, with videos reaching up to 5 million views and hitting "Trending" in Canada.
